Welcome to Cultura!
Seizing the opportunity for travel and cultural experience is important on many levels. It broadens perspective and personal growth, encourages an appreciation of ecological and human diversity, and fosters an awareness of global affairs. For so many of us, the desire to explore the world is driven by an innate curiosity of diverse communities, social histories, rural landscapes, nature, and the quirks and attractions of urban life.
Cultura Magazine has been created for three reasons. The intention is to curate insightful, revealing, educational and resonating feature stories of travel and cultural experiences from around the globe.
Cultura will also provide a platform for active discussion about travel and related news. Independent travel often throws up practical or logistical challenges. Not all the answers can easily be found by online searches or guidebooks but there’s usually a way to work around a sticking point. Let’s share those experiences and learn from each other.
The third function of this digital magazine is to explore the barriers and solutions of moving to a new country on a more permanent basis. Brexit has been a major hurdle for many UK citizens wishing to move to the European Union for long term work or retirement, though it’s not necessarily an insurmountable one. The increased desire to relocate has also been very noticeable over the last few years in other countries, often as a consequence of economic and political drivers. If you are an expat, or have just started out on the road, we’re keen to hear about your experiences of bureaucracy and push and pull factors involved, the emotional realities of starting a new life in another country—and how you rose to these challenges.
Thank you for your interest in Cultura Magazine. A free email sign-up facility is available for receiving new articles as soon as they are published. And finally, guest post article submissions from around the globe are also always welcome—visit the “Write for Us” section for guidance.
Meantime, thanks for coming on board!
